Phonje is the musical project of Philip Cronje, a South African hailing from a shitty little town called Somerset West.

Phonje itself found its beginnings in November 2004, with inspiration striking in none other than a shower. Immediately after said shower, the first Phonje track, int.Ro, was created. One year later, the Dayview EP was released, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The music itself spans a number of genres, with elements of ambient, IDM, and industrial present in some form or the other, as well as including intricate piano pieces.

As for the present, two years after the last Phonje release, a new offering, Imiragery, is nearing completion, and promises to be a step up musically and artistically.
